The key benefits of our Upholstery Cleaning service
Suffer from allergies?
Do you have symptoms of Sneezing, Wheezing or Runny eyes?
Need a Deep clean for your health?
Did you know?
Dust mites and fungal mould are linked to over 55% of asthma cases and other allergy related conditions to include eczema, rhinitis, sinusitis, coughs and watery eyes.
Regular vacuuming not only removes soils but also allergens that cause these symptoms.
How deep cleaning can help allergies
Allergen sensitivity has been on the increase over the last 20 years, especially in children. It is estimated that over 50% of children have some form of allergy with a majority of them not being diagnosed until they are fully sensitised!
Symptoms that can indicate an underlying sensitivity to allergens are so common these days that people don’t even realise it’s a reaction! Pollution in our environment is a dominating factor but pollutants within our homes are also being blamed. These underlying symptoms can include: sneezing, runny eyes and nose, sinus pain, coughing and wheezing, sore throats, rashes and swelling.
For the past 20-30 years, professional carpet and upholstery cleaning was regarded as only necessary for cosmetic reasons or to remove stains. Furthermore, this was carried out by untrained operators with underpowered, low-tech machines, many of whom still operate to this day!
Countries such as the USA, Canada and Australia have recognised the importance of keeping a healthy living environment to tackle these allergies. In recent years cleaning equipment has become more advanced, more powerful and, with improved industry knowledge, the quality of professional deep cleaning has prevailed.
You can significantly reduce exposure to allergens by regularly cleaning your upholstery and periodically employing a fully trained professional to give your upholstery a deep clean.

CROSS Specialist Cleaning are trained, qualified members of the NCCA (The National Carpet Cleaners Association), dedicated to upholding the best standards in professional cleaning. The cleaning industry is unregulated, so this offer our clients peace of mind.
As members of the NCCA, we abide by a ‘Code of practice’ to ensure all jobs receive dedicated care and attention to detail – an extensive multi-stage cleaning process. It is following this practice that sets us aside from other local cleaners, hire and domestic machines.
Our high standards achieve optimum results each and every clean – we don’t cut corners to save time!!

Our Upholstery Cleaning Method
It may seem like a lot of work but we carry out these steps to provide you with the WOW factor when you walk into your home.
Prior to arrival we survey all jobs identifying the type of upholstery fabric. The survey is a great opportunity for you to meet us too so we can answer any questions you may have and highlight any areas of concern.
We use a commercial grade vacuum to remove dry soils, pollens and allergens.
We use a comprehensive spotting kit with a selection of advanced solutions to remove most spots and stains.
Important Note: 100% stain removal is not guaranteed due to several factors – type of stain, type of fabric, length of time the stain has been present and whether the homeowner has already used a domestic stain remover, to name a few. In most cases, the stain can be completely removed, or at least greatly reduced.
A pre-conditioner (suitable for fibre type) is applied to break down soils from the fibres.
Agitation either by machine (or hand for more delicate fibres) is used to gently massage the pre-conditioner deep into the fibres, further loosening and suspending the soils ready for extraction. The pre-condition and agitation are very important cleaning steps and must not be skipped!
We use one of the most advanced powerful extraction machines on the market to rinse and extract suspended soils from deep within the fabric.
Important Note: If a cleaning solution is not thoroughly rinsed from the fibres, it becomes sticky and rapidly attracts re-soiling!! This is the problem when using domestic, hire or lesser-powered machines.
The upholstery is brushed to reset the nap of the fabric, leaving the upholstery looking uniform.
Air movers are used to rapidly speed dry the upholstery. This is especially beneficial in poorly ventilated areas.
