Our Carpet Cleaning Process
Our deep cleaning method extracts dirt, grit, bacteria, pollens and stains from the fibres leaving them soft to the touch and hygienically clean. It might seem a lot of work but we carry out these steps to provide you with the WOW factor when you walk into your home.
Prior to arrival we survey all jobs to identify carpet construction and type of fibre. We measure the area(s) to offer you a quote based on the measurement. The survey is a great opportunity for you to meet us so we can answer any questions you may have and highlight any areas of concern.
On our survey we assess what furniture will need to be moved. We are happy to move a few items but it would be helpful if the areas are clear before we arrive. This will save time and enable us to leave you to enjoy your new environment sooner.
We use a twin vacuum commercial-grade machine. Dry soil removal is 80% of the cleaning process and must not be skipped!
We use a comprehensive Professional Spotting Kit with a selection of cutting edge solutions to remove most spots and stains.
A pre-conditioner (suitable for the fibre type) is applied to break down soils from the fibres.
A machine with contra-rotating nylon brushes is used to gently massage the pre-conditioner deep into the carpet fibres, further loosening and suspending the soils ready for extraction. The pre-conditioner and agitation are very important cleaning steps and must not be skipped!
Suspended soils are thoroughly rinsed with hot water (steam) leaving the carpet fresh and free of chemical residue.
We have invested in one of the most powerful, up-to-date portable extraction machines on the market! It is important to note that the machine is only used to rinse your carpet, it does not clean your carpet. Carpet fibres must be rinsed thoroughly, otherwise chemical residue will attract rapid re-soiling! This is particularly applicable to lesser powered machines which include domestic and hire machines.
BEWARE: There is a lot of bad practice in the industry where ‘untrained’ operators are putting detergent in the extraction machine and using the wand to scrub the carpet! This over wets the carpet which can take days to dry. The cleaning steps are 1 – 3 (vacuum, pre-condition, agitate), step 4 is to rinse.
Analogy: You don’t put shampoo in your shower head then scrub your hair! Shampoo is directly applied to the hair and scrubbed with your fingers before rinsing. It is the same principle.
DOUBLE VALUE PROTECTION! – Our Stain Guard plus Allergy Shield protector offers two functions.
Fibre Protection – Stain Guard is a fluorocarbon fibre protector which forms an invisible shield around your carpet fibres repelling spills. This allows you the time to easily mop up the spill with either kitchen towel or tissues. Stain Guard does not affect the feel, texture or colour of the fibre and still maintains fire-retardant properties. Fibre protection aids maintenance cleaning which in turn reduces the rate of wear increasing the longevity of your carpets.
Allergy Protection – Allergy Shield (ACTIGARD) is a proven treatment that kills dust mites and eliminates the food chain that mites feed on, offering a barrier against further procreation. Notwithstanding safety or environmental considerations, ACTIGARD is a safe, proven formula that offers permanent infestation protection even after maintenance cleaning. It will also kill most other infestations to include fleas, bed bugs, carpet beetle, moths, cockroaches, bacteria and the growth of mould. Allergy Shield also kills other infestations to include carpet moths, carpet beetles and other textile pests that can ruin your carpets.

The carpet is brushed to reset the nap of the pile, leaving the carpet looking uniform. (Not applicable to Berber/Loop carpets)
Air movers are used to speed dry the carpets. This is especially beneficial for Wool carpets and those that are in poorly ventilated or large areas.
Important Note: If a cleaning solution is not thoroughly rinsed from the fibres, it becomes sticky and rapidly attracts re-soiling!! This is the problem when using domestic, hire or lesser-powered machines.

100% stain removal cannot be guaranteed
This is due to several factors – type of stain, type of carpet fibre, length of time the stain has been present or whether the homeowner has already used a domestic stain remover.
In most cases, the stain can be completely removed, or at least greatly reduced.
